Journeyman Electrician
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations, including wiring, conduit installation, electrical panel installation, lighting system installation, and other electrical components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in existing electrical systems, troubleshoot problems, identify faulty components, and replace or repair them as necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation, including inspecting and testing electrical equipment, replacing worn-out components, and upgrading systems to meet safety codes and regulations.
- Interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to determine installation requirements and layout for electrical systems.
- Adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations to ensure compliance and safety in all electrical work performed.
- Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines while working with electricity, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, engineers, and construction professionals to coordinate electrical installations and repairs.
- Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve problems efficiently, utilizing testing equipment and tools.
- Provide excellent customer service, interact with clients, understand their requirements, and offer advice and recommendations regarding electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work, including recording work performed, documenting changes made to electrical systems, and providing necessary reports and permits.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license or Equivalent experience
- Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose electrical issues.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
